Tilmann Claus, born in Göttingen in 1958. He studied composition at the Cologne University of Music with Jürg Baur and as a DAAD scholarship holder with Carlo Manzoni in Milan, followed by composition studies with Roland Löbner and postgraduate studies at the Studio for Electronic Music with H.U. Humpert in Cologne.
After teaching piano and music theory at the music school of the city of Bonn for several years, Claus was initially a professor of composition at the Dortmund department of the Detmold University of Music from 1997, before being appointed to the HfMT Cologne in 2004. Here he devoted himself in particular to new and contemporary music as well as music of the Renaissance, became Dean of the Department of Composition, Keyboard Instruments and Composition and in 2013 Vice-Rector for Studies, Teaching and Research.
Dr. Heike Sauer studied musicology, history and journalism at the Westfälische Wilhelms University of Münster and completed her studies with a doctorate in musicology. She then worked in public relations and orchestra management at the Landesjugendorchester NRW. In 1999, Heike Sauer moved to the Cologne University of Music and Dance as press officer. Some time later, she took over the management of the PR and event organization department, followed by the communication and event department, which she still holds today. Her responsibilities also include the organizational management of the Cologne International Music Competition.
Dr. Heike Sauer has been involved in cultural youth work on a part-time basis for many years. She is Chairwoman of the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Musik NRW e.V. (LAG Musik), President of Jeunesses Musicales NRW e.V. and Deputy Chairwoman of the Landesvereinigung Kulturelle Jugendarbeit NRW (LKJ).
